In the midst of controversy on freedom of speech, an interesting pundit Dapper Laughs has returned from underneath the public grave.
Late 2014, many on the public arena discovered the popularity of ‘lad’ Dapper Laughs as it grew on social networking app Vine. Dapper continued his escalation even though many viewed his material as unfunny, offensive and some even claim it incites harassment and violence. The rising star got his own TV program which was subsequently dropped just before airing as ITV received a plethora of complaints. The star then went on BBC’s Newsnight where he promised to axe his (what many view as) sexist role as it created ‘a living hell’ for the star, claiming it consumed his life.
More than 60,000 people signed a petition called for his ITV show Dapper Laughs: On The Pull to be cancelled after telling a female audience member she was ‘gagging for a rape’ at a show.

A month down the road; Dapper had a rethink, mocked his appearance and behaviour on Newsnight and brought his alter ego back. Dapper returned.
