A federal appeals court removed President Trump’s ban on travellers from seven muslim countries on Thursday. Thats it, the courts win.
The three judge panel from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco upheld the lower court’s ruling that initially stopped the ban.
The countries include; Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Interestingly; most countries America has invaded or has been involved with militarily.
This comes from last weeks decision when a Seattle judge halted Trump’s immigration ban nationwide, issuing a temporary restraining order. “This is why I became a lawyer” Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson said, “No one is above the law – not even the president.”
The ruling shuts down the executive order until the district court hearing. This means muslim country migration is allowed to commence as airline companies are told to board passengers from the named countries; as well as removing the refugee ban.
“I’m sure the president won’t like this decision, but it’s his obligation to honor the law and I’ll make sure he does,” Ferguson told reporters.
